SAVINGS x 2

Ok, here's my second attempt at getting the most I can for as little OOP.

CVS trip

As soon as I walked in, I scanned my CVS card and it gave me $2 Extra Bucks (works like cash)...Ok, I'm feeling good already!

They didn't have the ThermaCare wraps I wanted...I normally would not buy these, but they were on sale for $2.49 + I had a coupon for $1/1 which would make the price $1.49 AND you got $2.49 Extra Bucks!! So I would get these for FREE and get money to use for my next purchse. If I can get something for FREE and get the Extra Bucks to use for my next transaction, then I will buy things I normally wouldn't. The checker gave me a rain check, so I will get these when they come back in.

OK, here's what I got:

OK, doesn't look like much, but I only paid 24 cents out of my pocket, PLUS I got $2 Extra Bucks to use once the ThermaCare wraps come in! WOOOOOHOOOO!

Colgate Total - $2.99 - $1/1 MFGC = $1.99 I used the ECB that I got when I can into the store...OOP $.09 + $2 ECB to use later

NYC Lipstick - was BOGO (buy one get one free) $1.99 each + I had 2 $1/1 MFGC = 16 cents tax.

I got paid to shop today...I didn't get much, buy I was thrilled!!! Baby steps...but I'm lovin' it!

SAVINGS!!!

Ok, so my mom used to use coupons all the time. We saved 'trash' under the sink for her to cut out UPC codes all the time. I remember doing this well into my teenage years. I remember standing in line while the checker took off all those coupons. I remember being embarssed because we were holding up the line......didn't think or know about how much money my mother was saving!! Well, it's a new day and I'm adult now and I'm all about saving money! I happened to run across a couple of blogs that were very interesting - they are buying things for free...feeding their familis on $40 a week (WTH!)...and even making money on their transactions...OK, you got my attention!

Mike and I are all for a sale. We rarely pay retail for anything, well, groceries we pay retail...but not anymore!!! Ok, so here's my first attempt at getting the most for as little as possible OOP (out of pocket)

Ok, I thought I failed because the way I worked it out in my head and on paper before I went to Walgreens, did not happen exactly as planned...looking back and breaking it down...I didn't do too bad for my first attempt.

They didn't have the vitamins I was looking for and I was counting on the $5 RR to use towards the next purchase...so I was frazzled from the start. I checked out in the cosmetic counter and the lady there was very kind and patient!

1. Kotex - $3.49 - $1 MFGC = $2.49 + $2.49 RR (rapid rewards - money to use next purchase) OK, so I was OOP $2.49 for this transaction

2. Glade Air Fresheners $2.50 x 3 = $7.50 - $2/3 MFGC = $5.50 - $5 mail in rebate

Kotex - $3.49 - $1 MFGC = $2.49 + $2.49 RR

Bix Hybrid $4.99 - $3 MFGC - $1 SC = $ .99

I didn't have enough items/per coupon ratio...so I had to grab a 'filler' bag of nuts.

Total = $11.42 - $5 RR (from pervious transaction for medicine for Mike) = $6.42 - once I mail in rebate TOTAL = $1.42

So I spent approx. $4 - not the SCORE I was looking for, but not bad. I also ended up with 2 RR @ $2.49 each and Mike wanted chips...I was able to get two bags of chips for $1.42...

Tim McGraw Concert

Ok, sometimes the universe spins just right on her axis and throws you a 'lucky one'...well our universe was spinning right on Thursday night when we scored Tim McGraw tickets!! We tired to get opening night Diller tickets to be a part of 'History in the Making', but couldn't find any on Craigslist, so Mike asked if I wanted to go to Tim McGraw and Lady A...'SURE' if we can find cheap tickets. Found some on Craigslist and the lady took our offer and then 10 seconds later said she sold them to someone else...bummer!! BUT! Everything happens for a reason....Mike got on BOK's website to see if any tickets were still available. He tried a few times and F3 section popped up...floor seats - Row B - uuuh SECOND ROW????!!! How could that be possible? It was 4:30 on the night of the concert and 2nd Row seats were still available? Decided to pony up and pay the full price (Auntie, your Easter present went to these tickets...Thank You!). 2nd row had to be good seats! (we still paid the same as some people in the stands...so really, full price was not very expensive at all!) We had 15 minutes to get ready, eat in the car and head downtown! Had to wait outside for about 20 minutes, but once we got inside we headed to the FLOOR!!! We knew we got good seat, we just didn't know we SCORED big time until we got to Row B. Our tickets were 19 & 20....the row started on the outside at #1...our seats were allllll the way over to the STAGE. We had first and second seats, right by the cat walk...could not believe our lucky stars!!! We stood for 4 hours...but didn't care! We were by the stage and got to 'high five' all of the performers!! It was the best 'Date Night' ever!

Yes, that is the STAGE!!!

Lady Antebellum opened for Tim McGraw. Mike touched all three of their hands!!! They are all BEAUTIFUL....ok...they were HOT!

Mike shook hands with Tim McGraw...I finally got to touch his hand towards the end of the night...it was so cool! He sang for 2 hours straight. We got home late...but didn't care...it was a night we will never forget!!!
