This Week's Menu #4

We had the Mexican Lasagna left from last week, so we are eating that today. My scanner is not happy today, so I can not scan the recipes into my computer. I will scan them tomorrow at work and link them to the list. Here's the menu for the rest of the week:
1. Canadian Mac N' Cheese - I tried this one last week, but didn't have exactly what it called for, so trying it again this week with the right ingredients.

2. Tuna Melt Pie - this is from the Sept. issue of Rachel Ray

3. Sausage Sheppard Pie - this is from the Sept. issue of Rachel Ray

4. Crock Pot Roast w/ Roasted Sweet Potatos - will take a pic of the roast in the crock pot tomorrow morning, but I have the sweet potatos and onion marinating in Lipton Onion Soup Mix w/ a little EVOO.

5. Stew - will use the leftover roast for this one - will take a pic when I put it together.

Groceries for the week - approx. $40
Meals made by me and not stressing out during the week - Pricele$$

I've Been BOOED!

I opened my front door to turn off the Halloween lights and to my surprise....this beautiful basket was on our porch!!
We got BOOED! Have you ever been BOOED?
If you have never been BOOED, you can BOO first and see if it makes it way back to you. All you have to do is put together at basket/bag/gift and print off the BOO guidelines (found online). You leave the gift on a neighbor's porch and run!!! They find the nice surprise and then make another to pass to someone else. You include a picture of a ghost saying BOO and this gets taped to your front door...this way if someone wants to leave a BOO, they see you have already got one and leave the gift on someone else's porch so everyone gets in on the fun!!!
Here's what was left for us:
Beautiful wire basket filled with goodies, like this plant!
And candy, cupcakes, Halloween napkins and GLITTER PUMPKINS!!! I wanted glitter pumpkns, but had not gotten around to getting....now I don't have to go get them...I have them and they are beautiful!!!

So Cool!!

Look how pretty it is!! I have BOO Bags that I plan to fill and pass along!!

So have you been BOOED? If not, start your own BOOs!!!

Opening my front door and seeing someone was nice enough to think about us on Halloween = Pricele$$

$7 Recycled Fall Wreath

I found this awesome blog - http://www.houseofhepworth.com/ and saw a gorgeous wreath that Allison made with Dollar Tree items and I just knew I needed to make one too!!
I apologize....this was the first turtorial I tried to make and I kept forgetting to take pictures while I was working...please forgive!
I bought $7 worth of supplies from the The Dollar Tree and took apart last year's wreath to make this wreath.
I used wire cutters and cut off all the leaves from the Dollar Tree 'bushes' and from last year's wreath. I separated everything out into 'groups' so I could see what I had.
Then I just started gluing with a hot glue gun. First, I put 'regular' leaves all around the edges - inside and outside. Then I started 'building' the middle. I tried to have the leaves going in different directions so that it didn't look 'flat'.
Once I had the leaves on, I added the 'goodies'. The small gords were 50 cent picks from the Dollar Tree. The feathers and the sunflower were from last year's wreath. I just kept adding until I was happy with what I saw.

I hung it on a ribbon (Dollar Tree). I used flat tacks to hold the ribbon to the top of the door. No bow on this one... I didn't want to take away from the sunflower and feathers.

Close up of all the 'goodies'!!

$7 worth of supplies from The Dollar Tree - $7
Recycled items from last year's wreath - $0
