I found this awesome blog - http://www.houseofhepworth.com/ and saw a gorgeous wreath that Allison made with Dollar Tree items and I just knew I needed to make one too!!
I apologize....this was the first turtorial I tried to make and I kept forgetting to take pictures while I was working...please forgive!
I bought $7 worth of supplies from the The Dollar Tree and took apart last year's wreath to make this wreath.
I used wire cutters and cut off all the leaves from the Dollar Tree 'bushes' and from last year's wreath. I separated everything out into 'groups' so I could see what I had.
Then I just started gluing with a hot glue gun. First, I put 'regular' leaves all around the edges - inside and outside. Then I started 'building' the middle. I tried to have the leaves going in different directions so that it didn't look 'flat'.
Once I had the leaves on, I added the 'goodies'. The small gords were 50 cent picks from the Dollar Tree. The feathers and the sunflower were from last year's wreath. I just kept adding until I was happy with what I saw.
I hung it on a ribbon (Dollar Tree). I used flat tacks to hold the ribbon to the top of the door. No bow on this one... I didn't want to take away from the sunflower and feathers.
Close up of all the 'goodies'!!
